Anchored by the Queens Village station stop of the Long Island Rail Road, the area is home to several banks including, Citibank,JP Moorgan Chase, North Fork Bank and Antuns Catering, the “Little Jamaica” district features a mix of convenience, automotive retailers and ethnic eateries. Antuns catering has been a fixture in the community for many years and is one of the premier catering facilties in Queens. Metro Dodge, Pep Boys, New York Motorcycle, 5 Boro Banner and Flag and Strauss are some other notable businesses.
Anchor Businesses and The Village Eateries
Need a quick bite? Popeye’s, Subway, and numerous ethnic eateries and bakeries can be found along the main thoroughfares in Queens Village South, While McDonalds, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut and Burger King are all within 3 blocks of each other in the Queens Village North district. This northern most district stretches from Francis Lewis Blvd. To Braddock Avenue on Hillside Avenue. Blockbuster video, Hollywood Video, Sears Hardware and HSBC are the key business anchors on this northern most strip along with convenience stores and ethnic eateries. Further south, Hempstead Avenue District features Blackman plumbing, a major plumbing supplier with a beautiful upscale showroom, Marks Lumber, Rite Aid and a variety of convenience and automotive retailers and ethnic eateries.
The southern most district is on Springfield Blvd. Between Hempstead and Murdock Avenues. HIP Health Care, White Castle and Key Food are the business anchors in this district.
